About Michael Pitts

I am a Video/Film Editor, Screenwriter, Filmmaker, and Teacher with an enthusiasm for Film and Television in all its aspects. I am also an intensely curious traveler and explorer, with many international and cross-cultural experiences, and a deep passion for History and learning new things.

I have spent much of my career in TV/Film Post-Production, producing and editing on-air promos, trailers, and sales presentations for the likes of Disney Channel, Bravo, HGTV, Netflix, and all things Turner. I have also edited TV shows and training videos for various corporate media departments.

Through those experiences, I was inspired to create my own films and TV shows. That led me to Los Angeles, where I earned my MFA in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University. During my time there, I wrote, produced, and directed three short films, which were screened at various film festivals.

Since then, I have written three historically based feature scripts and a premise for a TV series, with more projects in development.  I have also continued to work as a Producer/Editor for a variety of clients and projects.

I have supplemented my work by teaching College classes in TV and Film Production and Film History as an Adjunct Instructor.  I also work as a substitute teacher in the local public school system, serving both elementary and High school grades.

I currently live in the Knoxville, Tennessee area, having relocated after many years of living and working in Los Angeles.  I have done quite a bit of remote work and can travel as needed.
